Ly Nha Ky: ‘Doing charitable activities help me realize the life value’
21/04/2010 12:00 AM
Always showing up with the image of a fashionable girl in the discotheque but talking to Ly Nha Ky, people will be surprised about her since she is very friendly.

You used to announce that at the end of March, you will reveal an international project that you are taking part in. How is that project?

Recently, am pretty busy with this project. In Nov 2009, I was nominated as a Vice President of the International Charitable Foundation Sheen Hok. The main purpose of this Foundation is to conduct free eye surgeries for the children in remote areas and for those who are in difficult living situations. During the time I join Sheen Hok, I was adopted by Mrs. Alice Chiu – The President of Henyep and Sheen Hok. At the beginning of 2010, I visited Hong Kong to join the conference and propagandize this Foundation with other Hong Kong artists.

Adopted by a Hong Kong billionaire and showing up in many big charitable activities like this, are you afraid that the audience might say this is one of the ways in which you are polishing your name?

I don’t think so. For what I’ve done, it’s not about materials or personal purpose but it’s about devoting to the society. There are so many ways to polish an artist’s name; no one will choose this difficult way. I believe that everyone will support and trust in what am doing.

Do you think that you are a good artist?

I think that judging a person needs to base on many elements and same for an artist. I myself haven’t felt that am a good person since no one is good comprehensively. Everyone has weaknesses and sometimes, just other people can realize those weaknesses. So, the accurate answer should be from the audience, not from me.

Since you have joined the entertainment industry, what you can ‘take’ and what you need to ‘give’?

I feel that am very lucky since I have joined the entertainment industry from 2006 till now and I have received attention from the audience. That’s what all of the artists would like to receive. About the lost, it’s not too much for me. If yes, it’s just about the sleep and health since I was fainted during joining some movies. (Smile)

Being a business woman, being an actress and recently, being a person who is doing charitable activities, are you a workaholic?

No, with each task, I learn many different things. In the business, I learn about life value. In art, I learn about love value. In my opinion, I think that if you want to achieve success, you should consider work as happiness. Once you can do that, you will forget tiredness and overcome difficulties more easily.

If someday, you need to choose between business and doing art, what will you choose?

I never think of someday, I need to choose which and give up which since I love two of them. But if I need to choose, I’ll choose business. Doing art is just for some certain period of time. But with business, it’s a long journey and it’s a foundation to build your future.

Always showing up with the handsome guys in TV series with hot and romantic scenes, have you ever felt that you need a shoulder to lean on and to share things?

Yes, sometimes, I think about that, but I won’t be in a rush. Not about the thing that I don’t give chances to other people but it’s about the thing that it’s not easy to find a chance for myself. (smile)

Could you please share with me your next plans?

This year, I’ll spend all of my time in Sheen Hok activities. I think the blind children need my help. As per the schedule, on 15th May, I’ll organize a launching ceremony for this Charitable Foundation in Ha Noi and Gala Dinner will be thrown to raise fund with the presence of many businessmen, Hong Kong billionaires, governmental officers and Hong Kong Star Lu Luong Vy. Of course there are many plans waiting for me. About going back to the film studio, probably I’ll do it in July 2010.

Wish you more and more success!
