Ly Nha Ky: ‘Lu Luong Vy is a talented man’

To be honest, I didn’t know what I should do. After sharing this, everyone explained to me that HTV Award is just to honor those who are working in art field. I didn’t need to withdraw my name like that. On that day, I was busy, needed to do some missions in the Central Eye Hospital; hence, I couldn’t be at the event and was afraid that the Organizers and the audience will be disappointed. But now, I think twice. Probably, on that day, even though I was not there, I could definitely share a small clip with the audience. I hope that thru that clip, the audience will be happy. If you are in my situation ~ with 2 choices – one is showing up in a very fabulous image in the event of HTV Award and one is to be with the unlucky people; I believe that you will decide like me.
- Usually, people are doubtful when some person working in art field doing charitable activities or taking part in social activities. Why they don’t try to count how many people in the art field spending their time to do those activities? If they would like to polish their names, there are so many ways to do it; why they need to do something hard? If you do charity and that’s not from your heart, can you act in a long time?
- Every where you go, you have your own team. What do you think if people think that Ly Nha Ky is showing off?
- There are so many ways to showing off. If you know me well enough and know the workload I need to handle everyday, you will understand that those people are not serving me, but they support my work. Everyone has their own profession and responsibility; among of them, there are engineers and those who have Ph.D and Master Degree. If someone asking me why am successful and can handle both work of an actress and business, I’ll explain straight away. My team is the one who support me a lot and help me to achieve success.
- I like and choose the life in which am always busy like this. I don’t have the hobbies to hang out, go to the bars, go shopping and chat with friends. Before, I spent a little time in shopping but now, I give this task to my make-up artist and hair stylist. Sometimes, she travels abroad, goes shopping and brings me some clothes. Since she knows my taste and style; she can choose very easily.
- I’ve heard that a Hong Kong billionaire has just adopted Ky. Currently, Ky and she are doing some special missions – bring compassion and luck to unlucky pieces of life in Vietnam?
- This is so-called the fate. Last year, when I was the Ambassador of Operation Smile, I had a chance to meet and work with Mrs. Alice Chiu – one of the famous billionaires in Hong Kong. When we were talking, we felt that we are very close to each other and have many things in common. Therefore, Mrs. Alice Chiu would like to invite me to join the International Charitable Foundation Sheen Hok that she is the President.
I was very surprised with this invitation but realizing that the International Charitable Foundation Sheen Hok is interested in many fields such as building the school, rest-homes, helping poor children who study well, financially supporting for the eye surgeries for the children who have problems with eyes; hence, I agreed.
About the thing that she adopted me, this is right. She really loves me. She shared with me that the childhood, personality and point of view of hers and mine are very similar to each other. She felt that she had met me in the previous life and believed that both of us will me mother and daughter in this life. I also feel that two of us have some link. Every time I have a chance to visit Hong Kong, I pass by her house.
- But you are still very young, will you have enough life experience to take the responsibility of a Vice-President of the International Charitable Foundation Sheen Hok as well as understanding thoughts and desire of unlucky people?
- Sometimes, I ask myself this but after all, I think that I can do this and I will do it well. Maybe you haven’t known that more or less, I already experienced the feeling of unlucky people since I used to be very sick and couldn’t see things in a short time. At that time, I was really scared and just wished to see light; therefore, I understand that those who have problem with their eyes do wish to have surgery to improve their eyesight.
- To mark the event of launching ceremony of the International Charitable Foundation Sheen Hok in Vietnam; on 15th May, Ly Nha Ky will be in a formal Press Conference with the presence of Lu Luong Vy who is a famous actor from Hong Kong?
- To be honest, am very surprised and happy when Lu Luong Vy accepted to be at the Press Conference to congratulate this event. As per our schedule, he will be in Vietnam on 13th May.
- What is your plan to welcome the famous actor whom many Vietnamese audience know about thru the movie ‘Shanghai Habour’?
- Probably, I will go to the airport to pick him up. That is the way to show my good will and will have a dinner party to welcome him; of course, there won’t be the presence of mass media. On 15th May, he will show up in front of mass media in the Press Conference.
- I don’t get used to judging other people, but with Lu Luong Vy, I can say that ‘he’s a good man’. That’s a successful and talented man since he is not only working in art field, but also doing business. I feel that he is very enthusiastic and very friendly.

- Why don’t you take this chance and rely on the relationship to extend your acting career path in Hong Kong?
- When I accepted to be the Vice President of Sheen Hok Foundation, I understood that this is not a small work and hence, will not have lots of free time. I still bear in mind my plan to extend my acting career path; but to Hong Kong market is not the plan for now. Am fully aware that it’s not easy for Vietnamese actors and actresses to approach Hong Kong movie market since in Hong Kong, the movie industry is developed and there are a lot of talents. I don’t have the main purpose to extend my acting career path in Hong Kong but if I have a chance to cooperate in some movie, probably I’ll try to arrange my time to join.
- How about taking part in a movie in Vietnam?
- Am waiting for a really good role. According to my plan, I will take part in one more movie only in this year.
